October 30 Is Going to Be a Big Day for Dying Light 2 Fans (2025)

Fans of Techland’s Dying Light 2 have something more to look forward to, as the developer will be holding a “Dying2Know More” livestream on October 30, just in time to celebrate Halloween. The Polish studio’s action RPG set in the post-apocalyptic and zombie-filled city of Villedor released in February 2022. The then-highly anticipated sequel to 2015’s Dying Light had a high bar to meet, and for many gamers, Dying Light 2 didn’t disappoint.

Despite releasing to somewhat mixed reviews and Dying Light 2 subsequently being review bombed for not including Italian language localization, the game has maintained a loyal fan base. Part of this is due to Techland’s commitment to release regular updates and bug fixes for the game for five years. Since launch, Dying Light 2 players have enjoyed a number of limited-time events, as well as new game modes, weapons, cosmetics, and of course the well-received Bloody Ties DLC.

For Halloween, Techland will be livestreaming a special “Dying2Know More” show, during which the developers promise to share some exciting updates and provide a sneak peek into what’s in the works for Dying Light 2. The live stream will take place on YouTube on October 30, beginning at 1 PM CET. However, fans eager to learn more about the studio’s standalone project The Beast will have to wait, as “Dying2Know More” will be entirely focused on the 2022 game.

Dying Light Fans Won’t Feel Left Out

There will be something for Dying Light fans to look forward to as well. Techland hasn’t forgotten the first game in the series and still regularly holds events in Kyle Crane’s neighborhood. The Halloween event has already begun and will run through November 6. Additionally, Dying Light is on sale for 85% off on Xbox and PlayStation. When asked whether there would be anything for Dying Light 2 players to help them celebrate the spooky season, the response was only a “thinking” emoji, so perhaps there will be Halloween chaos coming to that game as well.

The community is also eagerly awaiting more info about The Beast, which just from its title and synopsis has somewhat answered the eight-year-old question of what happened to Dying Light’s Kyle Crane. The upcoming game is set more than 20 years after the events of the first and parallel to the second. According to Techland, Crane has spent the last 13 years being experimented on, information that has also finally confirmed which ending to Dying Light is considered canon.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human

It’s been 20 years since the events of the original game. The virus won, and humanity is slowly dying. You play as Aiden Caldwell, a wandering Pilgrim who delivers goods, brings news, and connects the few remaining survivor settlements in barren lands devastated by the zombie virus. However, your true goal is to find your little sister Mia, who you left behind as a kid to escape Dr. Waltz's torturous experiments. Haunted by the past, you eventually make the decision to confront it when you learn that Mia may still be alive in Villedor — the last city standing on Earth.

You quickly find yourself in a settlement torn by conflict. You’ll need to engage in creative and gory combat, so hone your skills to defeat hordes of zombies and make allies. Roam the city, free run across Villedor’s buildings and rooftops in search of loot in remote areas, and be wary of the night. With every sunset, monsters take control of the streets.
